Example #2 of Good Composition

This photo is an example of good composition because a persons a persons eyes will move "through color," from the greens and the yellows of the leaves to the dark tones of the trees.

This photo has great balance and in turn creates simple unity.

Examples of Bad Composition

The lighting in this photo is unequally distributed.  The flash lightened up the base of the tree way too much. 

  

The line in this photo  fails to create symmetrical or asymmetrical balance.
